The Austin Packers girls golf team was back into action for a second day in a row at The Jewel Golf Course in Lake City Wednesday to compete in the 12-team Lake City Invitational, and it was the Packers taking eighth place with a team total of 374.  The host Tigers took first place with a score of 311, 23 strokes clear of second-place Byron at 334, and Holy Family Catholic took third with a team total of 339.  Eastview and Northfield rounded out the top five with scores of 343 and 352, respectively.

Freshman Ailani Thiravong took second overall individually for the Packers Wednesday with a score of 74, junior Izzy Sellers carded a round of 96, freshman Sydney Lewis finished with a round of 98, fellow freshman Gracie Greenman tallied a score of 106, and freshman Regan Harty wound up the day with a 107.

The Packers are now off until next Monday when they will travel to Somerby Golf Club in Byron for a 17-team invitational that will also involve the host Bears, along with Rochester Century, Kasson-Mantorville, Caledonia, Jordan, Rochester Lourdes, Zumbrota-Mazeppa, Fairmont, Cannon Falls, Owatonna, Chatfield, Rochester Mayo, Lake City, Stewartville, Rochester John Marshall and Red Wing, with the teams scheduled to tee off at 11:00 a.m. that morning.
